Love the outdoors? Dedicated, reliable, and ready to stay one step ahead? Rentokil Initial is looking for a hands‑on, self‑motivated Pest Control Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the first line of defence in the fight against pests, solving customer problems with expert advice and proactive service. This role is for someone based in Whangārei, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend rosters and varied start times, covering all of the Northland Region, from Kaiwaka to Kaitaia and surrounding areas. We provide a work vehicle to support your daily travel. We’ve implemented skills‑based hiring, which means we’ll assess you on the actual skills needed for the job, making "no experience necessary" a reality. Benefits Company vehicle, fuel card, and mobile to keep you moving Uniform and PPE gear to keep you safe and ready Comprehensive training to master our products and safety Opportunity to join a global powerhouse and advance your career Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough site inspections to identify pest activity and determine treatment plans Apply pest control solutions and advise customers on prevention/management Identify hygiene and environmental risks to create safer, healthier spaces Accurately complete digital service reports after each visit Deliver outstanding, professional customer service Identify opportunities to recommend additional value‑adding services Qualifications Full‑time, permanent work rights in New Zealand Full, clean driver’s licence and a clean criminal record Strong customer‑service and communication skills Physically fit with a strong focus on health and safety Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions Self‑motivated with excellent time management High attention to detail and pride in high standards Confident using mobile apps and technology Flexible to travel and stay overnight if needed Experience with pest‑control regulations and methods is a bonus Desirable, but not essential New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations – Urban Pest Control Current New Zealand Firearm Licence Experience and licences for Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platforms Ability to operate a manual vehicle EEO Statement Applicants currently must have the right to live and work permanently in New Zealand.
