Job Description

Volunteering Opportunity - April School Holiday Childrens' Programme Leader The Kind Foundation (previously YMCA) is seeking students (15+) interested in volunteering during the upcoming school holidays. Our Holiday Programmes cater to children aged 5-11 years old in three different locations: Papa Hou in the City, Bishopdale Rec Centre, and Te Kāpehu Riccarton Primary. The programmes offer a variety of fun activities such as Orana Wildlife Park, Science Day, and Clip and Climb. Volunteers gain work experience, apply leadership skills, meet other young people, and have fun. We have supervisors on-site at all times to support the volunteers and children with any concerns. The role of a volunteer is to interact with the children, build relationships, engage in activities, and support the overseeing of the group. Off‑site activities are covered by us; volunteers do not need to pay for any activities or transport during the day. Please note: students must be 15+ years old to volunteer with us. Volunteers will receive a free gym membership which can be used at Elevate City and Bishopdale, as a thank you. Interviews for the programme start next week, Wednesday 4th March and Thursday 5th March. Please inform students they must be prompt in submitting the application form if they wish to have a volunteering opportunity over the school holidays. Contact me if you have any questions; I will be happy to help. Caitlin O'Shaughnessy Child Recreation Coordinator #J-18808-Ljbffr
