Job Description
Network & Store Systems Support Engineer As one of New Zealand’s leading retail chains, Farmers operates more than 59 stores nationwide and employs close to 4,000 team members. Technology plays a critical role in supporting our business operations, and we are looking for an experienced IT professional to join our team as part of the Network & Store Systems function. Reporting to the Network & Store Systems Manager, this role is responsible for delivering operational IT support across our retail stores, Support Office, and Distribution Centre based in East Tamaki. The position also supports the wider James Pascoe Group, including well-known retail brands such as Stevens, Pascoes, Stewart Dawsons, Goldmark, and Whitcoulls. We are seeking someone who understands the fast-paced nature of retail IT and enjoys working in a collaborative and dynamic environment. This role offers a broad range of responsibilities across Network, POS, and Store Systems support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and problem-solving. Key responsibilities include: Managing and responding to support queues efficiently Monitoring network performance and coordinating outage resolution with service providers Supporting POS systems, registers, and hardware configuration Managing RF and Wi-Fi infrastructure across stores Assisting with the planning and implementation of new store infrastructure projects nationwide Supporting store refurbishments and upgrades, including occasional travel Providing support for Data Centre Network Infrastructure Systems Participating in rostered after-hours support Maintaining accurate technical documentation and procedures To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: At least 5 years’ experience in a large retail Network & POS environment Hands-on experience implementing physical store infrastructure solutions Strong understanding of Power & Data plans, cabling, and patching Experience with CISCO and Meraki routers and switches Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills A strong customer service focus with the ability to support all levels of the business High attention to detail and the ability to work well within a team In return, you’ll have the opportunity to work for an iconic New Zealand-owned business offering a supportive team culture, varied and challenging work, competitive salary package, generous staff discounts, and free onsite parking. *Please note that we will be relocating to the new Support Office on Pitt Street by July 2027. #J-18808-Ljbffr
