About the role Emergency Mental Health provides 24‑hour assessment, treatment and support for people experiencing serious mental health issues. The team comprises Registered Nurse, Allied Health, Psychology and Medical professionals and is supported by a strong and dynamic multidisciplinary leadership group. We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic registered nurses to join our team. Responsibilities Provide timely mental health assessments, crisis interventions and short‑term intensive treatment. Work collaboratively with service users, whanau/families and partner agencies to ensure safe and effective care. Work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment where not two days are the same. Skills and Experience Registered Nurse with current APC and mental health scope. Full NewZealand driver’s licence. Experience in mental health settings preferred (ideally in crisis or acute areas); support and education provided for the right candidate. Skilled in risk assessment, crisis intervention and de‑escalation. Remain calm, compassionate and solution‑focused under pressure. Strong communicator who thrives in a team but can also work autonomously. Knowledge of and commitment to TeTiritioWaitangi. Ideally a Duly Authorised Officer trained and signed off for MHA facilitation, or willing to undertake paid three‑day DAO training.
