Job Description
Lead operational delivery for some of New Zealand’s most creative experiential projects. My client has spent over 30 years crafting experiential spaces that make brands stand out – from large‑scale exhibitions and events, to bespoke retail fit‑outs, point‑of‑sale displays, product showcases, and signage. Based in Auckland, they bring purposeful design and seamless execution together to create impactful environments for clients nationwide. They are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our operational team and ensure flawless delivery across a diverse range of projects. About the Role As Operations Manager, you’ll be the central driver of project delivery – planning, coordinating, and overseeing installation teams across exhibitions, events, retail environments, and custom display builds. You’ll balance creativity with operational discipline, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high quality standard. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment and enjoys working closely with designers, production specialists, suppliers, and clients. Key Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day operations across multiple projects and installation teams. Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and venues. Maintain timely, safe, and high‑quality project delivery. Oversee planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and on‑site logistics. Ensure seamless installation, build‑up, and pack‑down for events and retail projects. Manage nationwide coordination, freight, security, and site requirements. Monitor quoted versus actual costs and implement cost‑saving initiatives. Track project profitability and identify operational efficiencies. Ensure compliance with H&S regulations and industry standards. Prepare risk assessments and documentation for all operational activities. Maintain quality control across all installations and deliverables. What You’ll Bring 5+ years’ experience in operations, ideally from a shopfitting or event design industry. Strong leadership and people management skills. Proven ability to manage complex logistics and fast‑moving project environments. Proficiency with project management tools and operational workflows. Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building capability. A calm and resilient approach under pressure. Relevant qualifications in business, event management, or a similar field are beneficial but not essential if you bring the right experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
