Job Description

Decision Intelligence Lead As the Decision Intelligence Lead your role is to partner with leaders and teams across One NZ to translate data, advanced analytics and business context into insights that improve customer, commercial and operational outcomes. Sitting within the AI, Data & Decision Intelligence Portfolio team, you’ll help move One NZ from reactive reporting to proactive insight partnership by framing the right business questions, identifying opportunities and risks, and providing recommendations that support better decisions and measurable value. What You’ll Do Partner with business leaders, product, channel, strategy, finance and operations teams to improve decisions. Frame business questions, define success measures and identify where analytics can create value. Apply data science, predictive modelling, segmentation and experimentation to solve complex problems. Generate proactive insights that identify patterns, risks, opportunities and performance shifts. Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations that explain what is happening and what to do next. Connect insights to measurable outcomes including revenue, churn, cost, productivity and customer experience. Support prioritisation, roadmap choices, investment decisions, value tracking and product performance. Create executive-ready narratives, dashboards, visualisations and insight packs for varied audiences. Design and support tests, pilots and measurement approaches to track performance and impact. Ensure analysis is accurate, transparent, well-documented and based on sound methods. Work cross-functionally to turn insight into action and support follow-through on recommendations. Align insights and analytics with Responsible AI, privacy, security and data governance expectations. What You’ll Bring Experience in advanced analytics, data science, decision intelligence or commercial analytics. Strong ability to partner with stakeholders and translate priorities into analytical questions. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills across modelling, segmentation and experimentation. Confidence turning complex data, models and business context into clear executive-ready insights. Commercial understanding and the ability to connect insights to measurable business outcomes. Experience working with large datasets, analytical tools, dashboards and data visualisation. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across technical and non-technical teams. Practical understanding of AI, data products, digital products and portfolio outcomes. Good understanding of Responsible AI, privacy, security and data governance expectations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical concepts. A proactive, organised and outcome-focused approach in a fast-moving environment.
