The Role We are looking for an experienced full‑time Refrigeration Service Engineer to deliver installation, service, and maintenance work across both commercial and marine refrigeration and air‑conditioning projects. You’ll be part of a skilled, professional team handling diverse, technically rewarding work, from high‑end marine HVAC‑R systems to complex commercial installations. As our business operates 24/7, participation in the on‑call roster (one week at a time) is required. Key Responsibilities Installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of commercial and marine refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems. Diagnosis and resolution of system faults and breakdowns. Preventive maintenance and optimisation of chilled water plants and control systems. Occasional overtime to complete time‑critical jobs. Qualifications & Experience Trade‑qualified Refrigeration Technician with at least 3 years of experience. Current Refrigerant Licence and Limited Electrical Registration. Full New Zealand driver’s licence. Skilled in brazing/welding, leak detection, pressure testing, and system evacuation. Solid understanding of electrical controls and wiring. Experience with chilled water systems, from small modular marine units to large industrial screw compressor plants, would be highly desirable. Marine refrigeration and air‑conditioning experience is a significant advantage. Personal Attributes Self‑motivated and able to work independently. Strong communication and customer service skills.
