Location Wellington Clinic – Adelaide Road, Wellington Service Wellington South Community Mental Health Team Contract Permanent/Fixed, full/part time Salary As per ASMS SECA About The Role We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to become an integral part of our dedicated multidisciplinary team. In this pivotal role, you'll help shape and deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care to our patients. Your key responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive psychiatric and risk assessments; providing clinical leadership in medical care and physical health management; working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care; supporting the development of junior staff and students through teaching and mentorship; and coordinating effective discharge planning in partnership with community services. About the Team/Service/Location The Wellington South Community Mental Health Team provides secondary mental health services to adults aged 18 and over who are experiencing psychological distress. Services are primarily community‑based, with inpatient care available when clinically necessary. The team supports moderate to severe psychological distress that significantly impacts daily functioning or presents ongoing risks to themselves or others. Guidance and support are also provided to primary healthcare providers, such as GP practices.
