About the role Christchurch Engine Centre is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Tradesperson to provide facilities and maintenance support across all business operations. This is a hands‑on role that involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant, equipment, and site facilities. This is a full‑time permanent position, based in Christchurch. Key Responsibilities Perform general fitting, repair, and maintenance activities Coordinate and oversee contractors working on site Maintain equipment, plant, buildings, and associated infrastructure Support site housekeeping and maintain a safe working environment Manage permit‑to‑work activities, including confined space entry and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes Carry out equipment inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards Conduct electrical testing in accordance with NZS 3760 requirements About You Hold a NZ Level 4 National Certificate in Mechanical and be capable of undertaking a broad range of maintenance tasks Relevant work experience in facilities, plant, and equipment maintenance Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be self‑motivated, organised, and proactive in managing workloads and priorities Work effectively both independently and as part of a team Have practical experience in maintenance, electrical testing, permit‑to‑work systems, and working at heights Maintain a positive, can‑do attitude and a strong focus on continuous improvement What We Offer Attractive remuneration package with a competitive salary, structured allowances, superannuation, and performance bonuses Strong career growth pathways supported by training, mentoring, secondment opportunities, and a scholarship programme Extra benefits such as shift and meal allowances, additional paid leave, and recognition for long service and high performance Access to discounted services and products, including health insurance and financial advisory support Contemporary, conveniently located workplace with secure on‑site parking Access to the AirNZ Social Club, wellness initiatives, and employee support programmes Relocation assistance provided for eligible domestic and international applicants About the Organisation Christchurch Engine Centre, a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand, delivers world‑class maintenance, repair, and overhaul services across all V2500 engine variants.
