Job Description Grow your career in this Senior Environmental Scientist role within AECOM’s Contaminated Land team based in the Hamilton regional office. You will be applying and building your technical and consulting skills on a range of projects including multi-disciplinary transport alliances, closed landfill assessment, preliminary and detailed site investigations, and more. This role provides broad career development opportunities as you will be joining an established team learning from AECOM’s local and international technical leaders. You will be assisting with the delivery of environmental projects that are diverse and technically challenging, with a focus on high quality which support our clients’ requirements. In addition to the technical work you will deliver, there are opportunities to become a project manager (following completion of a training programme) and to be at the forefront of business development and building lasting client relationships. How you'll make a difference Coordinate and manage field investigations and technical reporting. Participate in fieldwork and lead by example in the collection of environmental data. Prepare technical reports and other project deliverables to a high standard. Input to proposals and bids for both large and small projects. Work with clients to build relationships and deliver solutions. Contribute to a high performing team. Support project delivery and management. Provide support, guidance and direction to early professional and graduate level colleagues. Qualifications Bachelor’s or post graduate degree in environmental science, geology or related earth science subjects. Ideally 5+ years in contaminated land management, environmental site assessments (PSI/DSI) and/or remediation projects. High competency field skills including sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapours/gas. Ability to plan and prepare deliverables to a high standard. Ability to transition between large multi-disciplinary projects and smaller single-issue commissions. A ‘can‑do’ attitude and willingness to get out of your comfort zone. A collaborative, proactive and team‑based mindset. Willingness to travel across New Zealand (a valid full driving licence is essential). Experience using software programmes such as Excel and ideally Arc-GIS and Pro‑UCL.
