Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.**About the Role**As a Health Promotion Advisor | Kaitohu Whakatairanga Hauora, you will enable community-led action using community development approaches, working alongside communities to facilitate connections, navigate systems, and support decision-making. Partnering across community and policy settings, you'll drive collective action, cross-sector collaboration, and local planning to improve environments for hauora.You'll take an innovative approach, adapting to emerging opportunities and supporting new ways of working while contributing to programmes that advance Pae Ora through upstream health promotion and addressing determinants of health such as housing, transport, and social cohesion.Based in the Community and Whānau Wellbeing team, you'll help strengthen community capability and voice, influencing policy and creating supportive environments that enable whānau and communities to thrive.**About the Service**The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, promotion, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.**About you**You're a strong relationship builder and facilitator who works confidently across communities, organisations, and systems. With a solid understanding of public health and the wider determinants of health, you use evidence, data, and community insight to inform your work. You communicate clearly, adapt to different audiences, and are committed to advancing equity through Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.You're comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments, working alongside local government, iwi and hapū, and communities to enable collective action and influence policy and planning.
