About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Urologist with strong endourology capability and proven expertise in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) to join our dedicated team at Nelson Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing service that delivers safe, effective, and patient-centred urological care to our community. In this role, you will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, delivering comprehensive urology care across both outpatient and inpatient settings. This includes diagnostic assessment, operative and procedural management, and ongoing follow-up care. There is also scope to contribute to service development, support teaching and supervision, and take on clinical leadership responsibilities within the service. This position will be located at Nelson Hospital with the requirement to work across both sites. Key Responsibilities Provide elective and acute urology services across the district Collaborate with surgical, oncology, and renal teams Participate in on-call roster and multidisciplinary meetings Support junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and training Engage in continuous quality improvement and innovation About the Team / Service / Location The Nelson Marlborough Urology Service provides comprehensive secondary-level urological care to a population of approximately 150,000 people across the top of the South Island. The service operates primarily from Nelson Hospital, with regular elective lists and clinics at Wairau Hospital to ensure equitable access across the district. The service includes Outpatient assessment and follow-up clinics Elective and acute inpatient care Urological oncology in collaboration with regional cancer services About you The successful applicant will: Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate with a vocational scope of Urology with the Medical Council of New Zealand Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent Have proven experience in general urology with substantial experience in HoLEP and ability to independently perform HoLEP procedures Be committed to equity, patient safety, and collaborative care Demonstrate collegiality and collaboration across all disciplines We welcome applications from our diverse Māori, Pacific, disabled, and rainbow communities. #J-18808-Ljbffr
