The priority for the role will be to lead work, alongside others in the team to establish the required processes for data sharing from primary, the establishment of the health target and related engagement with the sector. You will be required to go beyond managing the programme of work, to leading the work alongside others in the team and together delivering to the targeted milestones.In this role you will establish and manage workstreams that are necessary to deliver the work including oversight of key deliverables, robust methodology and effective reporting on progress made on key initiatives. You'll manage programme risks, dependencies, resources, and change processes while preparing high-quality reports, business cases, and briefings that support informed decision-making. Your work will directly contribute to improving equitable health outcomes for communities across Aotearoa.**About the Team and Location**You will join the Primary Care team within Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora, who are the leads for services and developments related to community pharmacy, general practice, PHO, digital enablers and other essential portfolios that underpin strong, accessible primary and community care across New Zealand. In your national role, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and alongside external partners to deliver high-quality, equitable primary care services nationwide.**About you**You are an experienced programme management professional with a proven track record of leading complex programmes in large, dynamic organisations. You bring strong governance, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a focus on delivering equitable outcomes. You are a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and a collaborative leader who thrives on building strong relationships and influencing positive change.**You will bring:*** Extensive experience managing complex programmes using recognised programme management methodologies.* Proven success delivering programmes on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.* Strong governance, reporting, risk management, and programme assurance experience.* Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with senior leaders, government agencies, and diverse stakeholders, including Māori and Pacific communities.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including developing reports, briefings, and business cases for senior audiences.* Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to improving equitable health outcomes for Māori and Pacific peoples.* Strong systems thinking, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capability.* A collaborative leadership style with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and organisational boundaries.**Working at Health New Zealand**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
