Location Queenstown, NZ About the Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced Reinstatement Operator to join our Queenstown-based team. This is a dynamic role where you’ll take ownership of reinstatement projects from start to finish, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality completion of asphalt, concrete, and grass reinstatement works. You’ll work autonomously and collaboratively, managing on‑site operations, coordinating with teams and contractors, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. What’s on offer Competitive salary Time and a half after 8 hours daily Time and a half after 40 hours weekly On call allowances, where applicable Meal allowances, where applicable A great team focused working environment Employee benefits at local businesses Reduced gym membership fees Employee social club Opportunities for professional growth and development Stable employment with a reputable, world leading, 3 waters Network focused organisation Meaningful work that contributes to the well‑being of our community and keeps the cogs of society turning Employee assistance programs (EAP) through assure covering mental health, nutrition, financial, legal, coaching and career transition support Responsibilities Execute all aspects of reinstatement projects from establishment through to completion Ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of all reinstatement deliverables in accordance with health and safety protocols Adhere to project and traffic management timelines while maintaining quality specifications Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures to maintain a zero‑harm work environment Provide effective direction to team members when required, fostering a culture of safety and accountability Provide on‑site assistance to Veolia Operations and Renewals teams as required to meet contractual deadlines Coordinate with Team Lead, contractors, and internal departments to facilitate seamless job execution Maintain clear communication channels throughout all project phases Ensure all work meets the highest quality standards through regular inspections and quality assurance checks Maintain accurate on‑site job reporting documentation, including safety records and compliance documentation Ensure full compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and company policies Promote continuous improvement through new initiatives and operational efficiencies What you’ll need to be successful Experience Proven hands‑on reinstatement experience working with asphalt and concrete Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and contractors Ability to fault‑find on damaged road infrastructure Proven problem‑solving skills with practical methodologies Exposure to the water and/or wastewater industry (preferred but not essential) Knowledge of water and wastewater operations and maintenance activities (valued) Skills & Attributes Self‑starter with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy Results‑focused team player with strong interpersonal skills Excellent communication and literacy abilities Ability to assess and assimilate a wide range of information effectively Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances Persistence and confidence in your own judgment and capability High personal integrity and positive attitude Motivation and enthusiasm with a commitment to excellent customer service Ability to organise resources, establish priorities, and meet deadlines Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Qualifications Combination of relevant training and hands‑on experience Current driver’s licence Relevant industry certifications (valued) Fairness, Diversity & Inclusion At Veolia we value diversity, equality and inclusion, we are committed to providing working environments where everyone is included and treated fairly and with respect.
