Job Description
Overview Bids and Pursuits Advisor – Our Clients and Markets team focuses on client engagement and business development strategies. The role reports to the Manager – Clients & Markets and works with Client Leaders, Market Leaders, technical specialists, marketing and business development colleagues across New Zealand and Australia. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality bids and pursuits, coordinating submissions, contributing to bid strategy, and creating compelling, client‑focused content. It involves opportunity qualification, bid/no‑bid decisions, managing the submission process, tracking pipeline activity, and translating win/loss insights into best practices. Location: Auckland, Tauranga or Wellington. (12‑month fixed‑term position). Responsibilities Coordinate all bid and pursuit activities and manage submissions from start to finish. Contribute to bid strategy, win themes and messaging aligned with client needs. Track pipeline activity, performance metrics and win/loss insights. Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to develop high‑quality, client‑focused bid materials. Manage inputs, timelines and competing priorities to deliver submissions on time and to a high standard. Monitor progress, identify risks or issues, and raise escalations as needed. Capture lessons learned and experiences to support continuous improvement and best practice in bids and pursuits. Support the development of initiatives that strengthen pursuit capability and improve bid performance. Qualifications Mature experience with the full lifecycle of bidding, from opportunity qualification to bid/no‑bid decision making. Proven track record of writing, managing and completing submissions for professional services, engineering, construction or infrastructure sectors. Strong coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with technical specialists and business leaders. Experience in capturing and applying insights from past bids to improve future outcomes.
