Job Summary This position is for the 2026-27 school year teaching Art at Rice Elementary School. The scheduled work days for this role are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday (no Thursday). The assignment is 80% full-time, with 188 work calendar days per year. The position is ongoing. Pay for this position is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule based on years of experience and education. The range is $58,000 - $89,278 annually (based on a 100% assignment starting August 6th, 2025). Responsibilities Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule. Develop individualized programs of instruction for students. Create classroom materials and curriculum. Develop lesson plans and learning activities. Instruct students in large, small, and one‑on‑one situations. Administer, edit, proofread, and grade students' assignments and assessments. Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity, supervise the behavior and wellbeing of students, and administer discipline when necessary. Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways and use the data to give meaningful feedback and modify instruction. Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress. Communicate students' progress and needs with parents/guardians and other staff as needed. Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and colleagues to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes. Collaborate in team and building-based meetings and discussions. Demonstrate a commitment to understand, appreciate, and accommodate student diversity, engage families, support district policies, and provide personal and professional excellence. Participate in department, team, building, and district meetings; student and family conferences; social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities; and professional growth opportunities. Attend work and arrive in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program required. Experience instructing students in a classroom setting preferred. Criminal background check required. Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
