Assistant Managers support the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience. Description This role supports the Store Manager in creating an outstanding guest experience and building a high-performing team. Responsibilities include coaching the team, managing operations, maintaining standards of appearance and cleanliness, and ensuring that financial objectives are met. Responsibilities Manage the team’s guest service behaviors, coaching them to greet and welcome all guests and to address concerns promptly. Support the Store Manager in building and developing a strong team through training, scheduling, coaching, and creating an engaging work environment that reflects company values. Partner with the Store Manager to achieve operational excellence and hit financial objectives on store promotions, sales, and controls. Assist with overall appearance and cleanliness of the store, ensuring the coffee station, food service area, and bathrooms are spotless and fully stocked. Assist with quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and product inventory management to maintain 100% in‑stock levels. Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Person in Charge when the Store Manager is absent. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations. Working Relationships Store team members, Store Manager, District Manager, and various corporate personnel and vendors. Minimum Education High School diploma or GED. Preferred Education N/A. Minimum Experience One year of retail or food experience – must complete the Assistant Manager Training program before assignment. Preferred Experience 1‑2 years in retail, guest service, or restaurant experience in a leadership role. Preferred Licenses/Certifications and Skills ServSafe/Food Safety certification is an advantage but not mandatory. Soft Skills Comfortable speaking and interacting with guests and team members. High energy. Ability to transition quickly between activities. Team‑oriented and willing to provide extra effort to assist others. Computer skills are helpful. Scheduling This position is scheduled primarily on second shifts and must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Hours & Conditions Full time – 40 hours maximum. Travel 5‑10% travel to cover store events and meetings. Ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently and own vehicle for that purpose. Physical Requirements Ability to maneuver and regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand or walk eight hours a day, reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, grasp, grip, and work in cooler (cold temperatures). Typical noise level is moderate.
