Job Description

Overview We currently have an opportunity for a Facilities Technician Plumber to join our Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice team and play a key role in our high‑performance team. Reporting to Site Manager, you’ll help deliver high‑quality outcomes that support our essential services. Key Responsibilities Deal with unexpected events and provide direction to work for teams. Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and propose solutions. Undertake scheduled maintenance, first‑response and reactive activities to mitigate disruption to customers. Work hands‑on to complete work safely and meet client and contract requirements. Qualifications and Experience NZ Registered Plumber or NZ Certified Plumber / Tradesman Plumber. Full Class One driver’s licence with ability to drive a manual vehicle. Physically fit and agile, able to carry out regular bending, lifting and other manual tasks. Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards. Important Skills Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes. Problem‑solving mindset and willingness to coordinate other trades to complete jobs. Resilience and confidence to perform in challenging environments such as prisons.
