The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing our Resource Recovery Centre business by identifying, targeting, and winning new opportunities, particularly across third‑party waste collectors, landscapers, and construction or civil customers. You will lead the full sales lifecycle – from prospecting and developing the pipeline, through to proposals, negotiations, onboarding, and ongoing account management. Working closely with Operations, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, you will ensure customers are set up for long‑term success. This role offers the opportunity to: Build and maintain a strong, active pipeline to drive new business growth across priority sectors Shape and deliver customer‑focused solutions across our key offerings, ensuring measurable value beyond price Lead compelling proposals and presentations, negotiating sustainable commercial outcomes Establish and nurture long‑term partnerships that drive repeat business and sustained profitability Success in this role will be defined by your ability to build and nurture long‑term relationships with our customers, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and safety. About You You are a seasoned business development professional with credibility and presence to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels. You build rapport quickly, ask the right questions and understand how to adjust your approach depending on who is in the room. You are confident without being pushy, commercially aware, and able to think on your feet when challenges or opportunities arise. Qualifications Proven experience winning new business in B2B environments Background or exposure to construction, civil, trades, or waste sectors The ability to connect naturally with a wide range of customers Strength in leading negotiations and closing opportunities Confidence working with internal stakeholders to deliver solutions Sound commercial judgement and awareness of margin and pricing Your credibility, adaptability, and ability to gain trust are what will set you apart in this role.
