Job Description
About the role In this role you will be collecting, managing and analysing a wide range of environmental data, including groundwater/river/lake/sea levels, river flows, water quality, ecology and meteorology. You will be required to maintain our network of automated monitoring sites and to carry out physical surveys and measurements using sensitive monitoring and communications equipment. In addition, you will be expected to plan, implement and complete specialised technical projects. Your skills and experience Science, engineering or similar tertiary qualification. Minimum of 3 years of experience in undertaking data collection activities. Valid current driver’s licence. Technical scientific skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Initiative and excellent organisational skills. A reasonable level of fitness. Practical skills (knows their way around a toolbox). An adaptable approach to their work and the changing environment where it is performed (all weather). Confidence around and in water (streams, rivers etc). Less experienced applicants may be considered at the lower Environmental Monitoring Officer II level (note remuneration differs if appointed at this lower level). Benefits Competitive remuneration.
