Hillmorton Hospital, Christchurch Position: Permanent, part-time (0.8 FTE) – New Zealand Registered Allied Health Professional with Annual Practicing Certificate About the Role The West Adult Community Mental Health Service is one of our four city-based teams that provide an assessment and treatment service for consumers with mental illnesses aged between 18‑65 years, and work closely with their families/whānau both in the community and alongside inpatient services. Responsibilities Provide mental health assessments, formulations and interventions in the community. Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team and support whānau and caregivers. Triage and prioritise the needs of tāngata whaiora promptly. Liaise with NGOs, police, probation and other services. Initiate, develop and provide group‑based interventions for Whaiora. Qualifications New Zealand Registration as an Allied Health Professional, with Annual Practicing Certificate. Minimum two years of experience in a mental health setting (highly desirable). Strong risk assessment skills and ability to build rapport with people who may be mentally unwell or distressed. Experience with community‑based case management and multidisciplinary teams.
