Position details About the Position | Te Mahi We are looking for dedicated support workers to assist a complex baby client we support in West Auckland, Henderson. Support work is engaging, people-facing, challenging, and very rewarding. It is also a deeply empathetic journey that goes beyond a job to provide invaluable support, led by the people you will be supporting. Location: Henderson, Auckland Shift Time: 10:00 pm – 7:00 am (Awake Night Shift) Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Employment Type: Part-time Responsibilities Tracheostomy care Oxygen management Ventilator support Suctioning of secretions Nasogastric (NG) feeding Personal hygiene and personal care Assisting with household management and meal preparation Medication support Job Location: Henderson Please note that only candidates currently residing in North or West Auckland will be considered for this role. Employment Type: Part Time We offer a range of employment opportunities including part-time and full-time positions, which will be discussed during the recruitment process. Days of work: This is community-based work with rotating rosters, including am, pm and weekend work. Your preferred hours of work can be discussed during the recruitment process. We are looking for someone who would be comfortable covering hours from 10 PM – 7 AM. The duration of these hours may vary. About you | He momo You are a calm but confident-natured individual who can demonstrate resilience and understand the challenges of service users. There are many responsibilities associated with being a support worker that can be challenging and fulfilling. It is rewarding when you are part of the support that enables a person to live their best lives in the community. The candidate would have (Candidate Pre-Requisites): Prior experience with complex baby care is preferred. Familiarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries, traumatic brain injury Familiarity working with children with intellectual disabilities such as Autism Access to a car and ability to drive independently (a full New Zealand Driver's License is a must) Ability to drive a mobility van (training available) A Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial; those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided) Flexibility to travel anywhere in Auckland Flexibility to work on a rotating roster Legal right to work in New Zealand is a must.
