Senior Support Officer – Albany Office We have a permanent Senior Support Officer position available, based in our Albany office. This role has flexibility to support operations across North and West Auckland. A full valid driver’s license (Restricted License considered) is essential for managing fleet vehicle responsibilities. As a Senior Support Officer, you will report to the Business Support Manager and oversee a range of organisational functions, including correspondence, payroll, financial management, data management, document production and digital storage, corporate services, and scheduling. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations and support the organisation’s broader objectives. This role encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities, requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will manage financial processes, utilise Microsoft applications for data management and reporting, and coordinate fleet vehicle logistics to support team mobility, including SharePoint creation and management. Your ability to handle multiple systems and tasks efficiently, even during busy periods, will be critical to maintaining operational continuity. By delivering high‑quality organisational support, you will enable our teams to focus on achieving impactful outcomes for ākonga. Salary range: $62,681 - $72,999 per annum + KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience. About you Ideally you will bring financial literacy and strong organisational skills. Your proficiency with systems and processes, combined with a calm and professional approach, allows you to manage competing priorities effectively. You are adaptable, detail‑oriented, and committed to supporting the organisation’s goals. Strong verbal and written communication skills will be essential. Experience working in a similar administrative support position and delivering to organisational standards. Passion for knowledge, open to learning new things and comfortable working in a varying environment. Well‑developed communication skills, both oral and written. Experience building exceptional working relationships with customers. Experience working with others across an organisation or team to provide support and resolve issues in a pro‑active and professional manner. Experience providing quality, efficient administrative support to managers and staff. The ability to be an adaptable and reliable team player, able to work in varying conditions and with virtual cross‑functional teams. Great time management with an ability to prioritise work and work towards timelines. Proficiency in the Microsoft suite and email and diary management. Comfort in working in a tikanga/kaupapa Māori environment. An interest in or some knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and how it relates to our work. The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct. About our group and team Te Mahau is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others, including learning support, education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services. The Business Support team provides support to the Education and Learning Support teams in Auckland, and we regularly work with families, schools, and early childhood centres to support their work in the sector.
