Overview Salt has partnered with a world‑class luxury automotive brand looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team. Our client is a world‑renowned automotive brand known for its innovation, precision, and performance. You’ll be part of a close‑knit but down‑to‑earth team that values collaboration and continuous improvement. Job Details $39 – $41 per hour + 8% holiday pay. Based in Newmarket with free parking available. 2‑3 days WFH after training. Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. This fast‑paced, deadline‑driven role plays a key part in daily financial operations, including completing bank reconciliations, processing banking transactions in SAP and preparing shipment and customs documentation that feeds into GST. Responsibilities Prepare month‑end journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and support monthly financial reporting Manage daily bank reconciliations, cash receipts uploads (SAP), and banking transactions Maintain creditor and debtor reconciliations, including AR aging reviews and follow‑ups on overdue accounts Complete GST and FBT reconciliations and submissions, ensuring compliance requirements are met Assist with intercompany processes, including balance confirmations and group reporting entries in SAP Prepare vehicle import and shipment documentation, liaising with customs brokers and internal teams Support operational finance tasks such as exchange rate updates, invoicing, and ad hoc finance/admin support Qualifications 2+ Years in an Accounting role (AR, AP, general accounting) Diploma or Degree in Accounting Excellent time‑management and experience working to strict deadlines Strong attention to detail Strong Microsoft Suite skills, Excel: V‑ and X‑lookups and Pivot Tables Experience using SAP preferred Proactive and reliable, with ownership of work and ability to manage competing priorities accurately About the Role You’re a detail‑oriented Assistant Accountant (or junior ready to step up) with at least 2+ years’ experience across AR, AP, and general accounting. You’re confident with GST, reconciliations, and Excel, and you thrive in a deadline‑driven environment where strong time management is essential.
