Line Mechanic Faults - Matamata

Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Downer’s Energy & Utilities team is seeking a Line Mechanic (Faults) to join our Valley region crew, supporting network fault response and restoration. Working alongside a Team Lead, you’ll be out in the field responding to faults, restoring power, and helping keep the network running. This is a great role for someone who likes variety, problem‑solving, and being part of a strong crew. Based in Matamata, your day‑to‑day will include: Responding to overhead and underground network faults across the region Locating issues and helping restore power safely Carrying out switching under direction Completing repairs on lines, poles, and equipment Supporting your Team Lead and crew on‑site Keeping job records and basic reporting up to date Taking part in on‑call and storm response when required This is a full‑time, permanent role with consistent work and great earning potential with our overtime faults rostering.
