Retail Assistant / Welcome Desk

Trade Depot is looking for a friendly, switched‑on and sales-focused Retail Sales Assistant to join our Hamilton store. This is a full‑time role, including weekend work. You will be based around the welcome desk and front‑of‑store area, helping customers feel welcome, answering questions, directing them to the right products, and supporting sales across the store. This role suits someone confident, personable and commercially aware. Someone who enjoys helping customers, can spot sales opportunities, and brings a positive energy to the team. Sales bonuses are available for the right person who delivers strong results. Key Responsibilities Welcoming customers and creating a friendly, positive first impression. Supporting sales by asking good questions and identifying customer opportunities. Recognising potential trade, repeat, or key account customers and escalating them to the right person. Keeping the welcome desk and front‑of‑store area clean, organised, and sharp. Supporting signage, merchandising, and promotional activity where required, promo change overs. Transactions, sales, exchanges, and general customer enquiries. Working closely with the wider store team to make the customer experience easy and positive. What We’re Looking For Super friendly, approachable, and confident with customers. Switched‑on and aware of what is happening around you. Able to read customers and understand when they need help. Positive, reliable, and easy to work with. Calm and professional in a busy retail environment. Comfortable asking questions and guiding customers in the right direction. Interested in learning products and growing your sales ability. Commercially aware enough to spot opportunities, not just complete tasks.
