We have a fantastic opportunity for a strategist who is excited about charting the future course for the GCSB and NZSIS. As a member of a high-performing strategy team, you’ll help design future strategies, think about how we measure performance, contribute to prioritisation, and work with extraordinary colleagues across the two agencies. You'll also support senior leaders on complex strategic decisions and ensure that our work is connected with the national security system and its vision for a secure and resilient New Zealand—one that is protected as a free, open, and democratic society for future generations. What you’ll bring Experience in a similar role with another complex New Zealand public sector organisation or equivalent, providing strategic or policy analysis and advice. A future-focused perspective, ability to see the big picture, and experience in applying systems thinking. Experience building relationships internally and externally and influencing with confidence. Demonstrated ability to develop independent judgment and identify risks and opportunities across a range of areas. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly, tailoring communications to meet audience needs. Strong interpersonal skills with the interest and ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership. Desirable – Experience in performance measures. The expected appointment range for this role is $103,009 - $109,876.
