Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen to help lead the strategic planning of Edinburgh’s health and social care services. This newly established post is within the Strategy division of the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, with responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the planning team. You will manage a team of planning officers and support the development of high‑quality strategic plans for transformation, service improvement and service delivery. Key responsibilities Lead the strategic planning of Edinburgh’s health and social care services Manage a team of planning officers and oversee the day‑to‑day running of the planning team Support the development of high‑quality strategic plans for transformation, service improvement and service delivery Use data to develop evidence‑based plans in complex, multi‑functional environments Develop and manage strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and support the service manager for planning with the development and delivery of a strong planning function Qualifications and experience Previous experience of service planning in a health and social care context Sound understanding of health and social care policy and legislation Excellent communication skills Ability to use data to develop evidence‑based plans in complex, multi‑functional environments Terms and Conditions City Of Edinburgh Council Contract: Permanent Salary: £56,392 – £67,467 Hours: 36 NHS Lothian Contract: Permanent Salary: £43,231 – £52,679 Hours: 36 Additional information Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. The role allows the successful candidate to choose between employment with the City of Edinburgh Council or NHS Lothian. To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country.
