Senior Advisor, Petroleum and Offshore Renewable Energy Date: 7 Jul 2026 Location: Wellington, NZ, 6011 Salary range: $110,098 - $138,028 (plus KiwiSaver and wellness benefits) Responsibilities Lead the permitting, decommissioning and offshore renewable energy regimes. Support the Manager, Petroleum and Offshore Renewable Energy Operations. Ensure legislative requirements, regulatory efficiencies and strategic directions are met. Interpret and apply complex legislation. Lead multiple complex projects concurrently with minimal supervision. Use advanced critical thinking to identify risk and implement effective solutions. Provide intellectual leadership, regulatory insight and analysis. Collaborate with MBIE teams, oil and gas companies, government agencies and iwi. Qualifications and Skills 5+ years experience in a regulatory role (desirable). Relevant tertiary qualification such as a geoscience or engineering discipline.
