About us Blockhouse Bay Tennis Club Incorporated is a long-standing and successful tennis club in the Central West Auckland area. We currently have a membership of approximately 450. Our facilities are unmatched within the Tennis NZ community, boasting 10 tennis courts, of which 5 are purpose‑built indoor courts, enabling year‑round competition and general play for a wide segment of the local community. We run high‑level coaching programs & tournaments, and compete successfully within the Tennis Auckland interclub competition at all ages & ability levels. About the Role We’re seeking an organized, customer‑focused and commercially minded Sales & Service Manager to manage day‑to‑day sales, service, marketing and facilities operations. This is a hands‑on role with responsibility for growing revenue, enhancing member and visitor experience, supporting club events and ensuring smooth daily operations across the front office, bar, pro shop and wider club facilities. You will play a central role in the daily running and continued growth of the club. You will lead front‑of‑house service, manage bar and pro‑shop operations, support membership growth and retention, coordinate marketing activity, oversee facilities requirements and help deliver club tournaments, programmes and social events. You will work closely with our Administration Manager, and our existing team of 6 part‑time front desk/bar staff will report to you, and you will report to the Club Committee. Key responsibilities Manage front office, bar and pro shop operations, including rostering and supervision of part‑time staff within agreed budgets. Contribute to budgeting and provide monthly reporting against budgeted figures. Manage bar and pro shop stock, ordering, range optimisation, stock control, profitability and racket re‑stringing services. Respond professionally to enquiries from existing and prospective members by email, phone and face to face to support membership growth and retention. Oversee day‑to‑day facilities, cleaning, maintenance and improvement plans, including grant funding applications, supplier quotations and project coordination. Manage club marketing activity, including social media, newsletters, website updates and promotional campaigns, and drive the whole team to contribute their skills in this area. Grow sponsorship revenue through signage, team sponsorships, uniforms, corporate opportunities and tailored programmes. Play a role in managing official club tournaments using the approved tournament management platform within Tennis NZ ranking requirements. Develop and support club programmes that grow court hire, event hire and member engagement. Plan and manage club social events that generate revenue and strengthen member satisfaction and retention. What you will bring Experience in customer service, sales, operations, hospitality, sport, club management or a related environment. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Confidence leading and supporting part‑time staff. Commercial focus, with the ability to identify opportunities to grow revenue and improve profitability. Sound written and verbal communication skills. Competence in club‑based systems including Member Management, Access Control, POS/Inventory & Xero A collaborative, positive and member‑focused approach. Ideally, a current bar/duty manager’s licence.
