Job Description We are seeking an experienced Sonographer to join the Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging as a Professional Teaching Fellow, contributing to the development and delivery of a new Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Point of Care Ultrasound – POCUS), planned to commence in 2027. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside clinicians and academic staff to help establish a clinically relevant, educationally robust postgraduate programme. Following programme implementation, you will contribute to ongoing teaching delivery, learner supervision, assessment, and continuous improvement as the programme grows. Contribute to the design and establishment of the Postgraduate Certificate in POCUS, including curriculum structure, learning outcomes, teaching materials and assessment frameworks Deliver teaching across lectures, workshops and clinical learning contexts, including in‑person ultrasound workshops held two to three times per year Facilitate hands‑on ultrasound training and support learners to translate POCUS skills into clinical practice Provide longitudinal learner supervision through remote review of ultrasound scans Support learners to overcome practical barriers to implementing POCUS in their workplace settings Contribute to assessment activities, including marking, moderation and participation in final in‑person assessments Maintain active clinical engagement to ensure teaching reflects current best practice in ultrasound and POCUS This is a part time (28h per week), fixed term (29 months) opportunity. The salary range for this role is $105,791 - $139,199 (pro-rated) based on skills and experience. You are a clinically credible sonographer who is passionate about education and supporting adult learners in workplace‑based clinical environments. You enjoy working collaboratively with clinicians and academic colleagues and are motivated by the opportunity to help shape a new postgraduate programme from its early stages. You bring strong communication and organisational skills, a learner‑centred teaching approach, and a commitment to high‑quality, equitable and culturally responsive education. You will also bring: A Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science (Ultrasound) with current registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board A minimum of five years’ experience as a qualified sonographer Demonstrated experience applying POCUS in relevant clinical settings Experience teaching, supervising or training healthcare professionals, including hands‑on or workshop‑based ultrasound education Strong facilitation, interpersonal and time‑management skills A commitment to maintaining active clinical practice alongside teaching In addition, we also offer career development programmes, discounted car parking, a generous parental leave allowance, childcare, and a number of other discounts on internal and external services.
