Location Hutt Hospital Contract Permanent, 1.0 FTE Monday to Friday 07:30 to 16:00 hours. About the Role Reporting to the Locality Lead, Hutt Valley Crisis Resolution Service, the Clinical Day Coordinator has a pivotal role in managing daily activities and clinical outcomes for the Crisis Resolution Service. Key Responsibilities Attend and facilitate daily multi‑disciplinary team meetings. Manage the activity and flow through the service, including internal transfers of care and wait times, and ensure daily tasks are completed by clinicians. Provide culturally appropriate, brief, and intensive multidisciplinary, locally based assessment and treatment for tāngata whaiora and whānau experiencing acute mental distress. Coordinate an enhanced, targeted Emergency Department (ED) response and support collaboration with other agencies (Co‑response Team, ED Mental Health Team, Mental Health Acute Care Support (MHACS)). Ensure a rapid crisis response and referral/warm handover to other community services (if required). Ensure statutory obligations under the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992 are met in a least restrictive manner. Liaise with stakeholders both internal and external such as Emergency Department, MHAIDS CMHT, NGOs and NZ Police. About the Team / Service / Location Based at Hutt Valley Hospital, the Crisis Resolution Service provides 24/7 clinical, multi‑disciplinary assessment, treatment, and care to tāngata whaiora and whānau who are presenting with acute mental health crisis and need intensive support across the Hutt Valley locality. About you Registered mental health professional with current annual practising certificate, ideally at Senior Nurse or Senior Allied Health designated position level. Current full NZ driver’s licence. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet resources and e‑mail. High standard of written and spoken English. Ability to consent and undergo a full Police Vetting Check under the Vulnerable Children’s Act (2015). Commitment to helping all people achieve equitable health outcomes.
