Support Workers - Live Life Disability Support (Wairau) 2026 Permanent – full-time and part-time, Fixed term and Casual opportunities If you’re passionate about people, community connection, and leading with heart, this is the role for you. About the Role As a Support Worker, you’ll be helping people to join in community activities and events, drive people to appointments and catch‑ups, as well as supporting people with their personal care and household jobs. Knowing you’re making a positive impact in someone’s life can truly have the same effect on your own. We have a variety of positions available working a range of shifts and hours including weekends. Your hourly rate will be $25.37 to $31.13 an hour, dependent upon your qualifications as recognized under the Care and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017. Sleepovers (10:00 PM to 7:00 AM) are paid at the adult minimum wage rate. You can work in the way that works best for you – whether that’s full-time or part-time, or morning, afternoon/evening, overnight or casual shifts. You’ll be supported to achieve your Levels 2, 3 and 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate. About the Team / Service / Location Live Life Disability Support (LLDS) provides support to people with disabilities to live great lives in the Nelson Marlborough community. We support people to manage their day-to-day lives in ways and at times that work for them. The people we support have a wide range of abilities, gifts and challenges. We actively encourage people to pursue their dreams and try out new experiences and can guarantee that no two days working at Live Life DSS are ever the same. Our main locations are Nelson and Wairau Hospitals, but we are spread across the region and service all parts of the community. Our work can be challenging, but we are up for it. About you As a Support Worker, you need to be empathetic and have patience when supporting all types of patients. Applicants must have a full NZ Driver Licence and be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying. Appointment and ongoing employment will be conditional upon criminal record/police checks – you must declare any convictions and/or pending charges on your application form.
