Construction Engineer

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in coordinating and delivering small to medium‐size projects and turnarounds, with a focus on our operations in Wellington. No engineering degree is required for this role Key Responsibilities Project Planning, Budgeting, and Management : Develop construction schedules, coordinate subcontractors, and manage project budgets to ensure timely and profitable project delivery. Material/Supply Coordination : Efficiently manage materials and logistics, interfacing with fabrication, construction teams, clients, and third parties. Estimating : Prepare tender documents, analyse subcontract prices, and provide estimates for emergent work during shutdowns. Quality Assurance : Oversee testing and completion of construction, ensuring all project documentation meets client and company standards. Reporting : Monitor and report project status, ensuring accurate charging of plant and equipment. Health, Safety, and Environmental Issues : Maintain a safe and tidy work environment, ensuring construction works meet acceptable standards. Client Liaison : Act as the main point of contact with clients, providing feedback on efficiencies and cost savings. Person Specification Education/Skills : Essential: Heavy Fabrication Level 4, CMMS software, Intermediate Excel skills. Desirable: NZCE or equivalent degree, CAD software, proficiency in Project Management Software. Experience : Required: 4+ years in construction & maintenance, geothermal & hydro, oil & gas, or heavy industry. Proven supervisory skills and ability to manage people in demanding environments.
