Lecturer in Strategic Communication (Fixed Term - 3 years) Part‑time 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE) Fixed‑Term position (3 years) Starting anytime between 12 October and 2 November 2026 What You Will Do The Lecturer will coordinate and deliver three Media and Communication courses focused on strategic communication. The courses will be taught on campus and online, and will include: Advertising and Cultural Consumption (undergraduate) Advanced Strategic Communication (undergraduate, third year) Strategic Communication Portfolio (postgraduate capstone) The role involves developing new coursework, working collaboratively with colleagues in the Media and Communication programme, providing pastoral care for students, and advocating for the strategic communication programmes. Who You Are Currently completing, or have completed, a in communication or a related field. Proficient in teaching at tertiary level with experience teaching or tutoring, and a clear teaching philosophy demonstrated in the application. Knowledge of contemporary professional practice in strategic communication; industry experience and connections are a decisive advantage. Motivated to promote the university’s values of whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and tiakitanga. Who You Will Work With The Lecturer will work collaboratively with the Media and Communication programme, Tuihono UC (online) and the School of Language, Social & Political Sciences to develop an online Master of Strategic Communication.
