Job Description
Role Description The Personal Insurance Advisor role is a full-time position based in Auckland with a hybrid work arrangement, combining office-based work with some work-from-home flexibility. This role involves advising clients on personal insurance options, such as life, health, income protection, and other relevant cover, based on their individual circumstances and needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients (in person and virtually), assessing risk profiles, preparing tailored insurance recommendations, and explaining policy terms and benefits in accessible language. The advisor will handle applications and policy changes, liaise with insurers, and follow up with clients to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing service. Additional tasks include maintaining accurate records, complying with regulatory and company standards, collaborating with colleagues in finance and home loans, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and client experience. Qualifications Strong knowledge and practical experience in Insurance, with the ability to interpret policy features and advise on suitable cover. Foundational understanding of Finance concepts, including budgeting, risk management, and how insurance fits within overall financial planning. Consulting skills to assess client needs, provide tailored recommendations, and build long-term advisory relationships. Customer Service experience, with a focus on empathy, responsiveness, and maintaining high client satisfaction. Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to explain complex information in clear, accessible terms. Relevant industry qualifications or certifications in insurance or financial services (e.g., NZ Certificate in Financial Services) are highly beneficial. Comfort with digital tools and CRM systems, and the ability to manage appointments and documentation efficiently. High ethical standards, attention to detail, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and client confidentiality.
