About the Role - Tēnei tūranga We have an exciting opportunity to join the Building and Tenancy Services branch as a Dispute Resolution Coordinator (Tenancy). MBIE’s Tenancy Dispute Resolution team provides services to tenants and landlords under the Residential Tenancies Act and the Unit Titles Act. In this role you will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of high‑quality case management services to customers with a focus on meeting the needs of Māori and Aotearoa’s diverse population. Responsibilities Review Residential Tenancy Tribunal applications to determine the type of tenancy dispute and decide the best course of action. Provide parties with general information on problem resolution and how best to proceed with their issue. Effectively prioritise your workload and conduct a range of scheduling and administrative tasks for the Tenancy Tribunal. Schedule applications to Mediators’ calendars and complete administrative matters such as file management for cases. Skills and Experience - Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana Advanced skills of engagement within a customer‑centric model. Robust communication skills and the ability to explain often complex ideas, simply, to service users from all walks of life. Sound organisational, administrative, customer service skills. Conceptual and analytical skills to critically assess issues. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications. Experience working with legislation. Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand. Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and its underlying principles is desirable but not essential.
