Job Description
Senior Business Analyst - Digital Transformation Full-time Engagement type: Permanent - Employee Department: Delivery & Change Innovation at the core. Powering a smarter future. At Vector, we believe innovation is key to building a cleaner, more connected energy future. We partner globally, apply cutting‑edge technologies, and continuously evolve how our network operates, from predictive analytics to AI‑enabled insights. The role We’re embarking on a once‑in‑a‑generation transformation. Our Vector Digital Roadmap Programme is redefining how Vector operates today and into the future. As a Digital Roadmap Business Analyst, you’ll help shape enterprise‑wide digital capability, working across systems, platforms and business domains to define direction. You’ll operate in early‑stage, often ambiguous problem spaces, partnering with senior stakeholders to frame problems, explore options and influence long‑term decisions. Alongside shaping direction, you’ll take ideas through to structured outputs, translating evolving concepts into clear requirements, artefacts and decision inputs that enable progress into design and delivery. Key focus areas Leading problem definition and shaping Supporting RFI processes to explore the market and emerging capabilities Enabling cross‑functional alignment across portfolios and teams Facilitating workshops to bring diverse stakeholders together and drive clarity Contributing to ecosystem thinking, integrating multiple platforms rather than a single‑system view Driving data‑led thinking, including shared data, insights and AI enablement Understanding and mapping how work, data and decisions flow across systems and teams Structuring options, trade‑offs and recommendations to support decision‑making This is a highly strategic role, influencing decisions that will shape Vector’s digital capability over the next 5–20 years, while still contributing to tangible outcomes as ideas move toward delivery. What makes this role different Works across multiple systems and capabilities Deals with unclear problems and evolving direction Supports portfolio‑level decision‑making Focuses on long‑term capability uplift Operates across both early shaping and downstream delivery when required Who we’re looking for We’re looking for a strategic, curious and adaptable Business Analyst who thrives in ambiguity and can operate confidently at both conceptual and delivery levels. You’ll bring Experience working on large‑scale transformation programmes (ERP or digital), ideally in complex enterprise environments Proven ability to shape problems and influence direction early, not just execute defined scope Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, including working across senior leaders and multiple teams Experience facilitating workshops and driving alignment in ambiguous environments The ability to translate evolving concepts into clear requirements, artefacts or decision inputs Experience supporting RFI/RFx processes and evaluating solution options The ability to think in ecosystems, integrating platforms, data and capabilities rather than focusing on a single system A strong understanding of how work, data and decisions flow across systems and teams Experience structuring options, trade‑offs and recommendations to support decision‑making Confidence working in ambiguous, evolving environments where direction is not always fully defined Ability to operate across both early shaping and delivery when required Why Vector Be part of a transformational programme shaping the future of energy in New Zealand Work on problems that are strategic, complex and genuinely impactful Join a collaborative environment where cross‑functional thinking is critical to success Play a key role in building long‑term digital capability across the organisation Vector values diversity in all its forms and welcomes people of all backgrounds, experiences, identities and abilities to be part of our team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
