Position Overview Lead Data Engineer at MediaWorks Holdings – Auckland City, NZ. Full‑time onsite role focused on building and governing data products that drive business decisions. You will own the cloud data platform, shape data delivery and quality practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into measurable outcomes. Key Responsibilities Own and evolve the cloud data platform and data engineering ecosystem. Design and deliver high‑quality data products from concept to production. Establish engineering standards, CI/CD practices, monitoring, testing, and governance frameworks. Drive data quality, reliability, scalability, and cost optimisation. Collaborate with analysts, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to design practical solutions. Mentor colleagues and help build strong data engineering practices across the organisation. Key Qualifications 5+ years of experience in data engineering. Strong SQL and Python skills. Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data architectures. Proven ability to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products. Strong understanding of data modelling and engineering best practices. Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
