Health Care Assistant – Hawkes Bay – Fallen Soldiers Hospital – Permanent/Part‑Time (64 hours per fortnight, 0.8FTE) Gain valuable experience through a fixed‑term role that offers excellent variety and clinical challenge. About the Role We are seeking a compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R) Unit. In this role you will work closely with registered nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists to provide rehabilitation to our patients. You will assist with activities of daily living (showering, dressing, toileting) and also aid in the patients’ rehabilitation journey by helping them with exercises when Allied Health are not available. In AT&R we do with the patient rather than for the patient. You are also required to carry out some housekeeping tasks to ensure our Unit is clean, tidy and safe for patients to mobilise. About the Team / Service / Location The team in AT&R works closely across disciplines. Registered nurses and Health Care Assistants work in teams to provide care and rehabilitation to our patients. You are never alone with two nurses and an assistant per team. Communication is key for these teams to work, so bring your excellent communication skills to the forefront. About you In this role we would expect you to have: At least 2‑3 years experience in a similar role. Level2 Career Force (or similar). Good communication skills. Working at Health New Zealand.
