Job Description
Business Centre Operations Leader (BCOL), Buildings NZ – a key leadership role for Stantec’s Buildings team in New Zealand, delivering end‑to‑end projects from feasibility to operation. Our team of 100 specialises in mission‑critical facilities such as data centres and healthcare, integrating mechanical, hydraulic, fire, electrical and sustainability expertise to a growing domestic portfolio. About the Role Manage the day‑to‑day operations of our New Zealand Buildings business, working closely with the Regional Director to support performance, delivery, and growth. In this leadership position you will drive business performance, lead our people, and shape the future direction of the Buildings team. What You’ll Be Doing Lead overall Business Centre performance including financial delivery and operational excellence Drive continuous improvement across forecasting, utilisation, backlog and project outcomes Partner with Group Leaders to align resources, capability and growth Lead business planning and budgeting processes Build and lead a high‑performing, engaged team Shape workforce planning for current and future demand Provide strategic oversight on major projects where needed Enable collaboration and work‑sharing across regions, with other business centres, and through our connection to Stantec’s Global Tier 1 Buildings business Champion health, safety and wellbeing across the business Qualifications Proven experience leading consulting, engineering or professional services teams, ideally from a buildings background Strong financial and operational management capability Track record of driving performance and growth Experience building high‑performing, engaged teams Ability to influence and collaborate across complex environments Relevant degree (engineering or similar), with professional registration advantageous Benefits At Stantec, we take your growth and fulfilment seriously.
