We are seeking a motivated Support Technician to join our Information Network Operations Centre (INOC) team in our Service Delivery Team. Our Technology & Data Directorate is always on the ‘move’ – maintaining current systems, implementing new solutions and looking ahead to the future. As part of an ambitious work programme, your skills and experience will be highly valued as we support and deliver technology solutions for GCSB, NZSIS and the wider security and intelligence sector. This role would be ideal for someone eager to deepen their technical skill set—whether you’re aiming to transition into a more senior technical position or you’re a junior network or systems engineer ready to broaden your knowledge and experience in a dynamic, high‑impact environment. This role operates on a 24x7x365 roster so the ability to work shifts is essential! Key Responsibilities: Monitoring cryptographic equipment and systems at remote sites for correct operation and potential outages Providing the first point of contact for any IT helpdesk related queries outside normal working hours Monitoring GCSB and partner data flow connections, taking diagnostic/corrective action as necessary Transmission and receipt of messages for various departments Customer liaison and coordination with internal and external Agencies Ko wai koe – about you You will bring along your exceptional problem-solving skills, have top‑notch communication skills and a results‑oriented mind‑set with a desire to never stop learning! You will also have: Demonstrated experience in system administration of either Windows or Linux-based systems Knowledge of system security An understanding of Local Area and Wide Area network operation and maintenance The expected appointing range for this position is between $63,497 - $67,730 per annum.
