Intermediate Resource Management Planner Permanent | Full-time | Rangiora Waimakariri District Council has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Resource Management Planner to join our Resource Consents Team. This role is ideal for an experienced planner who enjoys a mix of technical assessment, customer engagement, and problem‑solving. Working on a diverse range of resource management matters, you’ll play an important role in supporting sustainable growth and helping Council meet its obligations under the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA). About the Role As an Intermediate Resource Management Planner, you’ll be responsible for processing a broad range of resource consent applications and providing professional planning advice to customers, applicants, developers, and stakeholders. The role offers exposure to both complex and varied planning matters, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their expertise and expand their experience. Key Responsibilities Processing subdivision, land use and other resource consent applications Liaising with applicants, developers, consultants and stakeholders throughout the consent process Responding to customer enquiries relating to land use, subdivision and District Plan matters Providing planning advice and assistance on compliance matters Undertaking property enquiries, PIM reviews and site inspections where required Participating in District Plan implementation, reviews and planning projects Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and customer service outcomes What We’re Looking For A recognised qualification in Planning, Resource Management, Surveying or a related field A minimum of three years’ planning experience Sound knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 and related legislation Strong analytical, report‑writing and decision‑making skills Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities A proactive, customer‑focused approach The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment Why Join Us?
