About the role PwC New Zealand is the leading M&A advisor in the market and the only Big 4 firm with a fully integrated deals capability across M&A, infrastructure, debt advisory, property and transaction services. We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Corporate Finance (Deals) team in Wellington. The role provides hands‑on exposure to live buy‑side and sell‑side transactions, close partner access, and a clear pathway toward Manager‑level responsibility. Responsibilities Support buy‑side and sell‑side M&A transactions, including transaction analysis, due diligence support and execution activities. Build, review and own financial models and business valuations, including DCFs, trading and transaction comparables, and scenario analysis. Prepare high‑quality client deliverables such as information memoranda (IMs), investment papers, valuation reports and board and shareholder presentations. Analyse financial performance, growth drivers, risks and value creation opportunities to support investment decisions, pricing and negotiation strategy. Support transaction execution, including data room management, coordination with other advisors and responding to buyer and investor queries. Work closely with Partners, Directors and Managers to deliver commercially robust, technically sound advice. Continue to build commercial judgement, transaction experience and professional confidence, with a clear pathway toward Manager‑level responsibility. Skills and experience Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline (e.g., economics, mathematics/statistics, law, engineering). Experience in corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory or financial markets (Big4 or similar preferred). Advanced Excel skills, with proven experience building and reviewing financial models and valuations. Strong analytical capability, with the ability to produce clear, board‑ready written outputs. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence contributing in deal teams and client discussions. A proactive mindset, strong time management and the ability to perform in fast‑paced deal environments. Progress towards CFA or CA qualifications is desirable.
