About the Role Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury isseeking an experienced SMO to join the Pain Management Centre (PMC) at BurwoodHospital. The PMC provides specialist assessment and treatment for peopleliving with chronic musculoskeletal and non-malignant pain conditions. As an SMO - MSK and Pain Management, you will work as partof a coordinated interdisciplinary team delivering outpatient clinics, painmanagement programmes, interventional procedures, and occasional inpatientcare. You will play a key role in supporting patients to regain function,improve wellbeing, and enhance quality of life through evidence-based, holisticpain management approaches. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute toservice development, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, and supervisionwithin a highly regarded multidisciplinary service. About The Team / Service / Location The Pain Management Centre is part of Older Persons Health& Rehabilitation Services and is recognised for its collaborative andpatient-focused model of care. The multidisciplinary team includes specialistmedical staff, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists,nurses, and allied health professionals working together to delivercomprehensive pain management services across Canterbury. About You As an SMO - MSK and Pain Management, you will bring: Vocationalregistration, or eligibility for vocational registration, with the MedicalCouncil of New Zealand Experiencein musculoskeletal medicine, chronic pain management, or a relatedspecialty area Acollaborative approach and experience working within multidisciplinaryteams Excellentcommunication, teaching, and clinical leadership skills Acommitment to culturally safe practice and the principles of Te Tiriti oWaitangi Applicants with Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine(FPMANZCA), Musculoskeletal Medicine qualifications, Rehabilitation Medicine,General Practice with specialist pain/MSK expertise, or related experience areencouraged to apply.
