Job Description
Field Service Engineer – Dunedin, Otago. Responsible for providing exceptional technical support and servicing customer sites, focusing on Automation and Controls, HVAC, BMS, and Access Control to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize downtime. Location: Based in Dunedin with travel to sites in Queenstown, Christchurch, and Invercargill as required. Key Responsibilities Service, maintenance and commissioning of Honeywell and third‑party equipment (as per trade expertise) Day‑to‑day servicing, calibrations and maintenance; including diagnoses, repair of faults, programming and commissioning in various control systems across HVAC and BMS Delivery of Service Projects; including design, documentation, procurement, programming and commissioning Navigate and interrogate Control System Interfaces Estimate materials costs and quantities Ensure customer satisfaction through direct liaison with client representatives, customers and service recipients Key Experience & Capabilities Trade Certificate in a related field is essential Electrical certification is required 5–7 years of relevant experience in BMS and HVAC are required Experience in building automation DDC controls as well as instrumentation and industrial controls will be considered Must hold a valid driver’s licence and be able to travel to the sites mentioned above Intermediate computer skills Strong commitment to customer satisfaction Good communication skills, both verbal and written Self‑motivated and capable of working independently without supervision Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment Strong commitment to safety and a safe working environment Honeywell is an equal opportunity employer, and we support a diverse workforce.
