We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with great energy & drive to join our project team at Auckland Airport. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, we will look to you to provide specialized functions of Procurement and Commercial Governance of the Head Contract, Subcontracts and supply agreements. The QS is an integral part of this group and reports to the Commercial / Project Manager. Responsibilities Take responsibility for the delivery of all of the Commercial activities required for the project in accordance with the companys commercial procedures. Management of Procurement Process in line with corporate policy. Develop Project specific Procurement Strategy with input from Project Manager. Manage the procurement strategy (smaller packages within Work Package) for tender and delivery of Work Package. Preparation of subcontract and supplier agreements including preparation of Request for Quotation, review of tender bid evaluations including rates, quantum and tags/exclusions in accordance with company commercial requirements, terms and conditions. About You Must have 10 years experience in Civil Engineering. A Degree in Civil Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience with the preparation of quantity & cost estimates. A minimum of 5 years of experience with contractors’ and suppliers’ bid analysis and awarding. Experience with Value Engineering techniques is preferred. Significant experience in the construction or building industry with sound costing analytical skills or equivalent site based experience. A track record in ethical negotiation with supply chain. Ability to demonstrate a successful track record in delivering procurement cost savings. Proficient in planning, organising and working to time lines. Sound working knowledge of HS&E requirements. Ability to allocate and manage work through other people. Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in dealing with complex issues, looks for approach change and deploys sound problem solving methodology. Display the ability to analyse contractual issues and provide and/or recommend solutions through appropriate problem solving techniques. Strong and clear communication skills oral and written with ability to work with and through all organizational levels. About Us McConnell Dowell Creative Construction.
