Job Description

Te Roopu Taurima is the largest kaupapa Māori disability support provider supporting tāngata (people we serve) of all ethnicities with intellectual and physical impairments. Guided by tikanga Māori, we uphold the mana and unique identity of every individual we support, creating culturally safe, inclusive, and empowering environments for tāngata to live their best lives. We are looking for a Lifestyle Coach to support tāngata across a range of needs within our whare (residential homes), with a focus on dignity, independence, and respect, while upholding tikanga Māori in every aspect of whare life. Location Papakura Position One Full-Time (30 Hours per Week) Hours of Work: 30 hours per week worked across a fixed roster Roster Pattern Monday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Wednesday: Rostered Day Off Thursday: Rostered Day Off Friday: Rostered Day Off Saturday: 4:00pm – 10:00pm Sunday: 8:00am – 4:00pm Position Two Full-Time (38 Hours per Week) Hours of Work: 38 hours per week worked across a fixed roster Roster Pattern Monday: Rostered Day Off Tuesday: Rostered Day Off Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm Saturday: 8:00am – 4:00pm Sunday: 4:00pm – 10:00pm Pay rate: Based on completed recognised Care and Support Worker qualifications Note: Visa sponsorship or Work visa support is not available for this position. About the role As a Lifestyle Coach, you will walk alongside tangata, providing practical support, encouragement, and guidance that empowers them to live the life they choose. No two days are the same. You will support tangata to develop skills, build routines, participate in their community, and work towards goals that are meaningful to them. Duties include Building positive, trusting, and respectful relationships Supporting daily routines and home management Assisting with cooking, shopping, budgeting, and household organisation Encouraging community participation and healthy lifestyle activities Supporting appointments, planning, and goal setting Helping tangata navigate challenges in an empowering and respectful way Promoting choice, independence, and self-determination Maintaining accurate documentation and communication A relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.
