About the Internship Curious about a career in engineering consulting? Aurecon offers a paid 12‑week summer Internship Program in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch for students studying Mechanical Engineering. The program provides exposure to technical and advisory work, structured development, and access to experts across the business. What the Internship Looks Like Depending on the placement, you will work with one of the following teams: Energy & Industrial – support projects involving industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, energy infrastructure, and process systems that help keep industry moving. Buildings – contribute to the design of mechanical building services systems for hospitals, airports, commercial developments, educational facilities and other spaces where people live, work, learn, and connect. Program Support Ideation & Insight Development – Intern Learning Series. Professional Skills – Leadership Series. Mentorship – Team leader, buddy and early careers team. Networking – Limelight early careers community. Key Responsibilities Participate in real projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the Asia Pacific. Engage with technical challenges and contribute to solutions in your chosen discipline. Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to support design, analysis or project delivery tasks. Provide support and deliverables to project teams within agreed timeframes. Requirements Currently studying Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, ideally in your second‑to‑last year of study. Available for 12 weeks full‑time work from mid‑November 2026 to February 2027 (including a two‑week break over Christmas and New Year). Interest in either industrial process and energy systems or mechanical building services and the built environment. Curiosity, strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
