Advanced Oncology Dietitian – Dunedin Hospital | Permanent Part-time (0.5FTE) This is an exciting opportunity to join our Southern Blood and Cancer Services as an Advanced scope Dietitian on the Dunedin campus. This role will provide specialised, proactive nutrition care across the cancer pathway, improving treatment tolerance, patient outcomes, and efficient use of cancer funding. The role is proposed to address clearly identified gaps in oncology nutrition care across both outpatient and inpatient settings for Southern Blood and Cancer Services. About the Role This is a new role funded by the new cancer medicines money to support patients on their cancer care pathways. In this role you will: Be part of scoping the key areas for this role to have the biggest impact on patient outcomes Manage a clinical case load of patients under the Southern Blood and Cancer Service across the inpatient and outpatient setting Provide professional leadership and supervision of clinical activity and practice across all aspects of Oncology & Haematology Dietetics Undertake service and policy development and quality improvement activities as part of the role including audits, research and projects. Lead and support professional development, skill sharing and positive practice in the Oncology & Haematology space. About the Team/Service/ Location You’ll join a supportive, experienced Southern Blood and Cancer team and be strongly linked in with the wider Dietetics team. Your role with involve strong collaboration and multidisciplinary work closely with other Allied Health, Nursing, and Medical colleagues across the Southern district. We offer strong professional support and regular supervision. About you To succeed in this role, you will have: At least 8 years clinical experience, with at least some experience in the area of advanced practice (Oncology) Hold registration with the New Zealand Dietitians Board and a current Annual Practising Certificate with prescribing endorsement Demonstrate strong clinical reasoning and communication skills Organisational, time management and clinical priority-setting skills Be adaptable, proactive, and committed to delivering patient-centred care Bring cultural competence and a collaborative approach to working in multidisciplinary teams Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
